A few weeks ago I entered a contest online with Thrifty Travel Tips to win a scratch-off travel map. I am always searching for new ways to document my travels and have fallen in love with the scratch-off maps I see all over Pinterest.
Why Did I Want a Map?
When I was little and practically lived in a motor home, I always saw other motor homes with sticker decals that illustrated what states the owners had traveled to. My dad refused to get us one, maybe because we hit all 48 continental states fairly quickly. Fast forward 20 years and I still wanted a map like it. My travels have taken me across the globe so I thought I should upgrade my dream from a map of the states to a map of the globe. I was debating whether or not I should splurge on one and decided I should get a scratch-off travel map. But before I clicked “purchase”, I thought I’d enter a contest to see if I could win one and save some money for travel. When Jess from Thrifty Travel Tips hosted a giveaway for one of these maps, I jumped all over it! I mean somebody has to win, right?
Travel Karma must have been on my side, because I ended up winning this super cool scratch-off travel map!
I was so excited when Jess emailed me to inform me that I was the winner of the giveaway! The map I received is wonderful and unlike any of the others I have seen online. The US states and Canada territories are split up individually so you can scratch them off as you visit each one. It’s also full of fun facts and information to teach you all about the wonders of the world. Learning AND having fun? Sign me up!

Why Do I Need a Scratch Off Travel Map?
Why wouldn’t you? To begin with, it’s a great conversation starter.
“What’s that map?”
“Oh that? It’s a map that shows all of the places I’ve been in the world, no big deal.”
And BAM! Conversation starter that makes you look a million times more cultured.
Plus, a scratch-off map is fun! If you like scratching things off to try and win (like overpriced lottery tickets), you can go nuts with this map. You may not win the lottery, but at least you’ll get to travel the world, which isn’t technically better?
Many thanks to Jess at Thrifty Travel Tips for this wonderful giveaway! If you want to purchase your own map, head over to Wanderlistria and check out all things travel!
As always, all opinions are my own.
Congrats on your win, Marisa! So glad you’re enjoying the map!
